Ocean Bank

New wave banking

Ocean Bank is an on-line only retail bank, the first-to-market of its type in Russia.

Our brief was to create a brand that was clearly differentiated from traditional bank imagery and practice and to achieve a unique profile and positioning for this innovative new bank.

The identity is fresh, simple and distinctive. The typographic treatment of the ‘O’ gives a feeling of dimension and animation to the brandmark and reflects the digital context in which it operates.

The vibrant graphics and symbols convey the Ocean concept. The sea imagery is bright, colourful and refreshingly different. It reflects not only the bank’s name, but also its ethos – the ocean as a world of living energy as well as of beauty.

The brand is both exciting and imaginative. It appeals to contemporary customer values and aspirations in communicating the friendly and accessible nature of the direct banking experience. The overall look and feel conveys a new and easy customer experience, appealing to a young, successful and digitally aware demographic and since the successful launch there has been a fast customer growth. 

In addition to brand identity creation, our work for Ocean bank encompassed design of both digital and print media, marketing and customer communications and detailed brand guidelines.
