A rewarding shopping experience

Telemaks is an electronics and household goods retailer with 23 stores in Russia, of which 12 are located in St. Petersburg.

Telemaks saw an opportunity to differentiate themselves from the competition by developing a strong service based offer – one that stood for more than just price, but which also created a user friendly, supportive and informative environment for shoppers.

We therefore developed a total store concept that focused on helping customers achieve a rewarding shopping experience, both with and without store staff assistance.

Together with store re-planning, clear departmental zoning and product merchandising, a complete communications hierarchy was created to guide customers through the store and
help them browse, select and purchase products. Clear and informative graphics provide information on product benefits and highlight new or special features to assist product choice
and decision-making.

The Telemaks identity was enhanced and given more character through the introduction of a play button symbol, a revised typeface and a fresher, more modern corporate colour. This colour was further developed as an interesting horizontal texture for store application. As part of the graphic hierarchy, highly visible icons were developed for different departments and a vivid secondary colour palette was introduced.

This flexible design scheme was applied to all interior and exterior aspects of the stores and to vehicle livery, store cards and website.

A detailed guidelines document was developed providing specifications for roll out in a variety of formats – both large stand-alone and smaller, shopping centre stores.
